We are so excited to share the next captivating single by Genevieve & Milo. After a very special month which saw the duo make their UK debut at Soul Revolution Fest, the excitement is notable as they reveal more of their beautiful music. Their 2024 debut EP, Carrying Water, unfolded slowly over months, unveiling their unique combination of medicine, world and folk music. Now, as they build towards their debut album, Genevieve & Milo present ‘Yemanja’, a dreamy and evocative prayer to the water goddess to hold and transform that which needs to be transformed. Their youthful view on traditional medicine songs creates deeply meaningful yet modern offerings, weaving their life experience amongst the sacred traditional ways of singing and praying to the Earth and the great mystery.

"This song is an ode to the goddess of the sea, a spirit whom I’ve come to know intimately through my time exploring the waters and coastlines that surround my home.

I wanted to capture the feeling of being suspended in the ocean, weightless yet entirely held by the strength of the sea. I’ve found such deep solace in this place, from diving beneath the surface or simply floating on the waves. The frigid waters have healed my hearts every ailment, and so this song acts both as an invocation and also a song of thanks"
